Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine

Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) was introduced in 2021 as a bold new initiative from ACI Sport and Alpine to create an official fourth step of the journey to Formula 1. The series serves as a significant bridge between the different national Formula 4 Championships and the international FIA Formula 3 Championship.

The FRECA races take place on several European circuits that are also used by the F1 Championship, ensuring an ideal training ground for our young ambitious drivers. The top competing drivers even have the opportunity to earn FIA Super License points, which are essential for progressing into F1.

The FRECA field consists of 33 drivers competing for 11 teams, all racing in identical cars. Accordingly, it provides a excellent opportunity for our drivers to exhibit their abilities in a car that boasts a progressively more powerful performance than the ones used in Formula 4.
