Van Amersfoort Racing celebrates strong Valencia weekend with race victory and multiple podiums

Valencia, Spain

During the third round of the Formula Winter Series in Valencia, Van Amersfoort Racing delivered an exceptional weekend, claiming a race victory, multiple podiums, and valuable championship points. Strong winds on Saturday forced all three races to be rescheduled and run on Sunday, creating a fully packed day. Despite the condensed schedule, the team demonstrated impressive pace, showcasing both the talent of its drivers and the overall strength of the team.

The weekend got off to a strong start in the first race. An early Safety Car briefly interrupted the action, but Rocco immediately made his mark with a series of overtakes, gaining five positions in the opening laps. He ultimately crossed the line in second place overall and claimed second in the rookie classification. Alex finished third, while Pedro secured fourth, providing the team with a solid foundation for the rest of the races.

Momentum continued in the second race, which proved to be the highlight of the weekend for the team. Alex put on an impressive drive, making a bold move at the start to jump from second to first into the first corner. That strong launch and early overtake set him up for a controlled race, eventually earning him his very first win in the Formula Winter Series. Pedro also had a great start, briefly moving up into second. A mid-race safety car bunched everyone back up, but Alex managed the restart perfectly and held onto the lead, while Thomas moved up into second. Pedro crossed the line in third, but unfortunately a post-race penalty due to track limits dropped him to eighth, still contributing to an impressive overall team result.

The final race of the weekend once again showed the team’s consistency. An early safety car neutralised the race, and a second late safety car set up a tense run to the flag with just two laps remaining.  However, Alex finished second, with Thomas close behind in third, while Pedro secured fifth place. Rocco made significant progress through the field, climbing from 31st to 15th.

The remarkable results in Valencia, including a race victory and multiple podiums, showcase the hard work and dedication of the F4 Van Amersfoort Racing team. The strong performance gives the team a boost as the Formula Winter Series heads to Aragon from 6th to 8th March, where they will aim to build on this momentum.
