Successful Opening of VAR Exhibition at Louwman Museum
The opening of the Championmakers 50 Years of Van Amersfoort Racing exhibition at the Louwman Museum was a great success. Partners and press came together to celebrate five decades of Van Amersfoort Racing, making the first day a truly memorable moment in the team’s history.
The exhibition tells the story of VAR from 1975 to the present day, showcasing the wide variety of machinery used throughout its 50-year journey. This carefully curated selection illustrates how the team has evolved over the decades and how it has played a key role in shaping the careers of many talented drivers.
Visitors were able to admire cars driven by renowned names such as Jos Verstappen, Max Verstappen, Oliver Bearman and Tom Coronel, each representing an important chapter in VAR’s rich history. The exhibition clearly reflects what Van Amersfoort Racing stands for: developing talent, working as a team and continuously pushing forward.
Throughout the opening day, there was strong interest from both the press and VAR’s partners, with many positive reactions to the cars, the stories behind them and the way the exhibition brings the team’s history to life. The atmosphere perfectly reflected the passion for motorsport that has always been at the heart of the team.
Following a general welcome in the morning, a toast was held by Ronald Kooyman, Director of the Louwman Museum, in the presence of Frits van Amersfoort and Rob Niessink. Guests were then given the opportunity to speak with them personally and discover the special memories connected to the cars and attributes that define VAR50.
All in all, it was a great day. The Championmakers exhibition will remain open at the Louwman Museum until 18 January 2026, giving fans the chance to experience five decades of Van Amersfoort Racing up close. We greatly encourage everyone to come and visit, to see all the monumental cars and stories for themselves.
Tickets can be bought on the Louwman website.
