Noel León steps up to FIA Formula 3 with Van Amersfoort Racing

Zeewolde, December 13, 2023 – Reigning Euroformula Open Champion Noel León is set to race in the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship together with Van Amersfoort Racing. The young Mexican driver made his first appearance for the team during the official FIA Formula 3 post-season tests this year.

Making his debut in the series, Noel is looking forward to yet another exciting step up in his racing career. León, who after 7 wins and 16 podiums clinched the 2023 Euroformula Open Championship title, is the first of three drivers announced for the team's 2024 FIA F3 line-up.

"Being part of Van Amersfoort Racing has been a joy so far," says León. "We did the post-season tests and Macau together which was a positive experience and great preparation for the upcoming season. I cannot wait for the season to start!’’

The 2024 FIA Formula 3 season will kick off at the Bahrain International Circuit with pre-season-testing followed by the first round of the championship in the first weekend of March. The 2024 championship consists of 10 rounds, with the championship heading to exciting venues like Albert Park and Monte Carlo.

Van Amersfoort Racing is a professional racing team based in the Netherlands. It was founded by Frits van Amersfoort in 1975. Since then, Van Amersfoort Racing has built a long tradition of supporting up-and-coming drivers on their way to higher levels. Drivers like Max and Jos Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Mick Schumacher, Kevin Magnussen and Giedo van der Garde all raced for Frits van Amersfoort’s eponymous team in the early stages of their careers before making it into Formula 1.
