Sophia Flörsch is a German racing driver competing in FIA Formula 3. She started karting at a young age and quickly made name for herself, being the first female as well as the youngest driver of the three series she competed in.
Sophia moved to formula racing in 2016, competing in the ADAC Formula 4 Championship in which she finished on the podium twice the next year. In 2018, she graduated to FIA Formula 3 European Championship and competed in the Macau Grand Prix, during which she suffered a spinal fracture following a horrific crash. Her resilience and determination shone through as she made a remarkable recovery, returning to racing just months later. The following year she finished 7th in the Drivers’ Standings of the Formula Regional European Championship.
In 2020, Sophia made her debut in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, being the first woman to compete in the Championship. The following years, she took a break from formula racing and raced in LMP2 cars, partaking in among others the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. A couple years later, in 2023, Sophia returned to the FIA Formula 3 Championship and became an Alpine Academy Driver, empowering female talent in the Rac(H)er programme.
